Biography of Scott Thompson
Scott Thompson is an American businessman and former CEO of Yahoo!.
He was born in Taunton, Massachusetts and grew up in nearby Raynham, Massachusetts. Thompson attended a private Catholic school in Easton, Massachusetts, where he specialized in accounting.
From 2005 to 2012, Thompson worked at PayPal, serving as the president of the eBay division and senior vice president and CTO.
During his time at PayPal, he was responsible for overseeing project architecture, development, and overall IT issues. He also worked as an executive vice president of technology at Inovant, a division of Visa, where he was in charge of developing and maintaining Visa's global payment system.
In July 2012, Thompson joined the team at ShopRunner as CEO.
